Resources for:

Nonprofits

Nonprofit Workers: Just because you work at a nonprofit doesn’t mean you’ve given up your rights as an American to participate in elections. If you are using your own personal email address and your own personal social media accountsyou can advocate and volunteer for the candidates of your choice. Just don’t use your work email or nonprofit resources.

Nonprofit Organizations: you can register people to vote, teach people about voting methods and deadlines, and help get people to the polls. You can start doing this right now, just as long as you don't use your nonprofit’s communications or resources to endorse a single political candidate or political party.

Venues/Poll Workers

Got a venue? Consider becoming a polling site. If you have a large, ADA-accessible space that isn't a polling site already, it's possible that it still could become one -- if you act quickly. The first step is to contact your County Clerk or County Board of Elections office which you may find on the official Government Guide to Government Information and Services website or the U.S. Vote Foundation website. You can also find useful guidance on how to serve as a polling site from the American Association of People with Disabilities or email venuesforvoting@gmail.com for more information.

Become a poll worker. The U.S. is facing a massive shortage of poll workers this year, as poll workers have historically been older individuals at much higher risk of serious illness from the Coronavirus. Many of these positions pay, and most states are recruiting right now.
