Everyday we must work to align our antiracist values with our thoughts and actions. The only cure for healing the deep wounds of racism and reclaiming our humanity is doing the work of every day justice. It is no longer a question of if we should engage in this work. The question is how.
This conversation will provide a baseline framework for antiracist strategies and action. As a member of a changing community, what is your role? What are the pressing issues? What is your responsibility for social change? Where do you have agency?
Please note that the lessons in this training are covered in our Beyond Diversity and National Facilitator Trainings. Everyday Justice is best suited for those who have not participated in those trainings or who would like to revisit foundational antiracist and social justice concepts.
ATTENDANCE
We ask that participants attend all 8 hours (4 hours a day) of this training. This workshop is designed to build thematically: layering one concept before the next. Missing more than a few minutes of the session will make it challenging to the individual and their co-learners. If you can only make a portion of the session, please explore the additional training dates available in 2021.
ACCESS
We commit to providing ASL Interpretation if requested before Monday, March 1, 2021. If you have other access needs that we can support, please let us know at the time of registration and we will work to meet those needs.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Refunds will be made in full up to two weeks before the training (before March 11, 2021). If you need to cancel, please email our Administrative Coordinator, John Rooney at jrooney@artEquity.org. Refunds will take up to 10 business days to process.
GROUP REGISTRATION
For groups of more than 5, please contact Margaret Toomey at mtoomey@artEquity.org. It is important that each participant registers individually so that we know how to best support their training experience.
