Breaking News:
Arts, Culture & Creativity Month and COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
Out of an abundance of caution and to align with current public health recommendations regarding COVID-19, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the ACCM 2020 Convening on April 14, 2020 to the Fall in Sacramento and produce a Virtual Arts Advocacy Day on April 15, 2020.
Although advocacy for the arts is essential, public safety is our primary concern and so instead, we will offer tools and mechanisms to call, write, and communicate with your elected officials about the value of the arts and culture sector. Live events, big and small are being canceled across the state and we know the devastating financial impact this will have on our sector. To that point, our work is just beginning. Now more than ever, we need to advocate to the public and private sectors why the arts need funding and investment to survive in all times…

2020 CONVENING
Breakout Sessions, Advocacy Awards, and Afterparty
This year we are pleased to announce the ACCM Convening and Advocacy Awards Party. Join us April 14 in Sacramento, CA for a statewide cross-sector convening for the arts. The goal of the convening is to build a strong network and coalition of voices to develop policies, funding and resources for sustainable careers in the creative sector and to see arts education delivered to all students. Registration now open! Sponsorship opportunities available now!
Convening Overview
The fragility of the arts sector, business models and systems has been revealed by recent California Supreme Court decisions such as Dynamex and AB5 legislation. The ACCM convening will provide a cross-sector opportunity to discuss, analyze and share ideas.
We will focus on how to strengthen the arts, culture and creative industries including arts education as we adapt and address environmental changes. All conversations will happen through the lens of funding, best practices, organizational sustainability and careers in the arts.
The convening will examine what methods of advocacy and lobbying are needed with tracks for both beginning advocates and more advanced policy wonks as well as professional development for artists and arts leaders.
We will together learn how the field can implement successful strategies and policies so we can all successfully shift old practices and thrive.
