Ashley Woods Hollister

Executive Director, The Squire Foundation Santa Barbara

My name is Ashley Woods Hollister and I am the Executive Director of The Squire Foundation Santa Barbara, a non-profit empowerment foundation, dedicated to artists and all manner of creative people, elevating the arts through our Artist In Residence, Community Artist and Public Art Programming, incorporating the Hebrew concept of "Tikkun Olaam-healing the world", humanity’s shared responsibility to heal, repair & transform the world, especially through the arts.

We believe artists are the best option for imagining our global world and what the future will bring. Squire is proud to announce our New Normal Project, an IGTV campaign with daily videos from our Resident, Community and Outreach artists, our volunteers, and all who are part of the Squire Foundation family. We encourage everyone to tune in, ask questions, connect, become part of our arts family and share these posts with your community.

Throughout the world in all its incarnations, artists express the core ideas of various collective experiences. The unique opportunity extended to us by the current pandemic is a vibrant, caring global community bringing forth daily its creative potential and we look forward to being with you on this new journey. Arts are essential. The Squire Foundation advocates passionately for it in our world, and that is why I am a California Arts Champion.

I nominate @cornelia.butler Connie Butler Chief Curator at the Hammer Museum and @bmajmudar Brandon Majmudar, grandson to Morris B. Squire our Founder, to share why #artsareessential #investinarts #CAArtsChampion #ACCM2020 #artscreateimpact #CAistheStateoftheArts @caforthearts @greenacres4life @carolynclarkpowers @americans @thesquirefoundation
