CALIFORNIANS FOR THE ARTS NEEDS YOU!

Dear Friends,

Are you a champion for the arts? The arts in California need a voice in Sacramento as it needs a voice in our nation’s capital as well. That is why Californians for the Arts (CFTA) is actively building our capacity to serve the diverse and critical needs of California artists and arts organizations and serve as the liaison to American for the Arts, our national arts advocacy organization.

This year we saw many victories and also some challenges for our industry. I hope the work speaks for itself in why we are asking for your support.

Please take a moment to celebrate our successes in 2019!

In order to be successful to build public funding and public will for the arts, and to educate the arts industries about legislation and policy that will impact their communities and work, our goal is to build a sustainable, robust advocacy organization for decades to come.

If you believe arts programs should be accessible for all Californians, that all students should have courses in arts education in public schools and that there should be public funding, policies and legislation to support the arts ecosystem in California, then we ask you to support this organization that builds the case and fights for these causes. We are committed to energizing civic engagement and keeping our elected officials informed so that they understand the need for arts funding and arts education throughout the state.

We operate with an Executive Director, a 24 person all volunteer board and one lobbyist. There are thousands of arts nonprofits in California in a geographically large state with a population of over 40 million people. In order to properly serve children, students and adults, we need to continue to grow our professional arts advocacy organization. Your donation can truly make the difference in millions of lives throughout the state!
